entrytoharborsmall.jpgThe Gig Harbor Peninsula area is synonymous with water and recreation. Many local and state parks offer opportunities for visitors and residents to play. Sailing, kayaking and pleasure craft are a way of life on the Peninsula. Summer months bring visiting yachts and boats into the harbor from all over the Puget Sound. Quieter in winter but a beautiful time to be on the water, you'll see fewer boats but a great deal of marine life and waterfowl.

The Amazing Grace Tall Ship is based out of Gig Harbor.  This schooner is a replica of a traditional American sailing craft, a 'tall ship' that fought the British in the War of Independence and again in 1812.  Today these ships appear in adventure films, advertising, and where tall ships gather.  The Amazing Grace is available for charter throughout the year and is moored at the Waterfront Inn at the head of Gig Harbor.
