Walking along the Gig Harbor waterfront is a relaxing pasttime, and now it is educational too, thanks to installation of heritage and enviromental markers. For the past several years, the City of Gig Harbor has added a few new markers each year, describing the historic waterfront as well as the eco-system of our area. The Harbor History Museum creates a history walk brochure each year, that reflects the information as well as expands on it. Pick up a history walk brochure at most of the heritage marker sites, or any of the visitor information kiosks around town.
Additionally, in the surrounding areas of Key Peninsula, Rosedale and Kopachuck, your will find more heritage markers, thanks to the Gig Harbor Chamber of Commerce.
