Synopsis: 1941- Brooklyn NY, and Mortimer Brewster, a New York critic of both drama and marriage, is finally getting hitched to Elaine Harper, the girl next door. Before heading off for an evening at the theatre with is new bride to be, Mortimer stops into deliver the news to his aunts, Abby and Martha Brewster, two sweet little old ladies who donate toys to charity and care for their nephew Teddy, a bugle blowing nut-bag who thinks he's Theodore Roosevelt. But Abby and Martha aren't as sweet and innocent as they seem. Mortimer soon discovers, to this horror, that his dear old aunties have a dozen bodies buried in the basement. It seems the Brewster sisters have a new hobby- luring lonely old men into their home and serving them Elderberry Wine with their own special recipe, a teaspoon of arenic, a teaspoonful of strychnine and just a pinch of cyanide.
 Gig Harbor is home to two live performing community theater companies, both offering year-around theater that is fun, hip, musical and dynamic.
Paradise Theatre offers wonderful indoor performances with a widerange of drama, comedy and musicals in an intimate setting only minutes from downtown Gig Harbor. Through out the year Paradise also provides the community with singing, dancing and acting classes as well as summer theater camps for children and teens.
 Encore Theater and the Academy of Performing Arts offers indoor theater from September –June and outdoor theater under the stars from June-August. Family, comedy, musicals and drama are all included in the annual line up. The Academy also offers year-around ballet, tap, and acting as well as summer theater camps for kids. |
